The Best of 2015

This year was truly amazing. It was kind of like my year of "YES". I did a lot & said yes to a lot of opportunities before fear had the chance to creep in & allow that little voice in my head to talk me out of it.

1. Traveling Solo to Vegas

In February I went to the MAGIC tradeshow that goes on every year in Vegas. I applied for a press pass & was actually granted one for all 3 days. I had no one to go with, but it didn't matter. With a packed schedule I figured I'd be able to keep busy & I did. Besides, when you travel solo, it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be alone. I met a lot of people & ended up having a good time.

It's my birthday today! Woo hoo!! Your girl is 28. I could complain about not being where I want to be in life, but forget all that. I am content that God has me exactly where I need to be at this moment. That's why this shirt is so perfect because it literally describes my feeling of just doing whatever the hell I want to do even if it sounds a little out there to others. That's just the space I'm in lately.

This weekend I'm headed to Chicago to celebrate my birthday with my girls. I can't wait because I love it there! In the meantime, I'm about to log off this computer right now & go get a pedi because these feet look like they could climb a tree! Yikes! lol

It's no secret that there is not a lot of diversity in the fashion world. I won't harp on the politics too much, but that's why when I attend fashion week I get so excited when I see beautiful brown girls out & about at the shows. Whether it's designers, models, bloggers, stylists, & especially black editors. We contribute so much to this industry. I just wish the industry reflected that.  Anyways, until that shift happens, I wanted to spotlight the black women I saw. This will continue to be updated. Ferries to Fashion Shows- Bermuda Part 1

My experience in Bermuda was the best y'all. I'm still in shock that I'm back in Atlanta. I keep asking myself how I ended up back here. It really makes no sense. lol Anywho, onto the reason I was there in the first place, the Bermuda Fashion Fest! My first night, I went to the Local Designer Show. I missed the first half trying to get situated at the boat I was staying on, but more on that in another post. Once i finally got dressed, the Dockyard ferry was a quick 20 minutes to Hamilton. Haleloo the venue was right there as soon as i stepped off.

Countdown to BERMUDA!!

Hey y'all! Next week, I'm headed to the pink sands of Bermuda for their annual Fashion Festival. My style crush Shiona Turini is from there & I just had to visit the island where all her fleekiness comes from. Is that a word? Anyway, the festival has grown to a week long extravaganza with runway shows, local & international designers & lots of other events that I can't wait to share with you guys.

This trip also kicks off my I D.efine L.ife Summer Series. Most of you may know of IDL as an interview forum I started to spotlight creatives but I wanted to take it a step further. I want I D,efine L.ife to be about living your life on purpose. Taking chances & just doing some things that make you happy every now & again. This summer I want to fulfill my passion of fashion & travel. However, even if i don't get to do as much of that as I want to, just crossing a few goals off my to do list will help me get closer to defining my life on my own terms.

5 Reasons You should stay at the Elara Hilton Grand Vacations in Vegas

With the big fight going down between Mayweather & Pacquiao as well as Memorial Day being right around the corner Vegas is definitely the place to be. If you're looking for somewhere to stay Elara should be at the top of your list. I'm really picky about hotels. I don't play around. To put it into perspective, I bring my own sheets & everything. WWD's MAGIC Tradeshow - What is it? & What to Expect

Everyone has heard of fashion week but not many people are as familiar with trade shows. Its basically the business side of brands showing their latest collections to potential buyers. To say that the WWD Tradeshow was huge would be an understatement. It was at 2 different locations (Las Vegas Convention Center & the Mandalay Bay) & had every category from kids, shoes, women to men's contemporary, edgy, & mainstream. I was a bit overwhelmed at first. However, by day 2, I was more comfortable. Here are my tips just in case you'd like to check it out 1 day.
