Hey yall! How was your Thanksgiving? I ate so much of the leftovers that I don't want to see no kind of Turkey, dressing, greens or anything like it until next Thanksgiving. Anywho, over the Thanksgiving break the temperature finally got cold enough for me to wear my light pink coat that has been trending lately. I got it from H&M's trend department. At first I wasn't sure about the over sized cocoon fit on me & I'm still not  but its really cozy. I'm slowly realizing that I have a thing for pink. In fact I think it may be my favorite color. I don't know how that happened.... , but I love that this is a really light, dusty pink. I added earrings to create a brooch for a more vintage feel.

On Sundays, all I feel like doing is lounging in my sweats & watching a tv show in marathon form (SUV, Sex & The City, Snapped). Luckily sweatpants have been trending lately in cotton, leather, silk, print etc. So, if I have to go somewhere I can easily dress them up & still be comfortable. I wanted to do a quick post & share some of my favorites that I have been personally rocking or have seen in person.

Mattieologie x Rachel Roy Macy's Event

When I saw Mattie's instagram post that she would be hosting an event with Rachel Roy, I was super excited. I have followed Mattie's fashion blog for a while.  I love her style & her pictures are always so fun & full of personality. Rachel Roy is also 1 of my favorite designers. So, this was a win-win for me. So last night I hopped in Malcom ( I name my cars lol) & headed to Lenox Mall. The event was super chic. There were hors d'oeuvres, a live dj, shopping, & of course Mattie & Rachel Roy themselves.

Last Days of Summer at Lake Lanier

Even though the Summer is pretty much over, I am still holding onto the season for dear life. Besides, the Atlanta heat has yet to get the memo that its almost fall & I'm not mad. So, I decided to take advantage of this warm weather & head down to Lake Lanier for some blog photos.

I really wanted to getaway. So, last week I left Atlanta for a mini vacay to 1 of my favorite gems- San Antonio, Texas. Its a nice city & the shopping isn't too shabby either. My two favorite places are La Cantera & the San Marcos Outlet. They closed my favorite FENDI store at the outlet, but it still has a great selection of upscale outlet shopping!

I found so many great buys during my trip to Neiman's Last Call on Tuesday I had to blog about it! Here's the thing as a serial shopper I know that outlets can sometimes let us down. We get there & wonder where all the good stuff from the original store went. That's not the case at my local Last call. Located about 25 minutes north of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, I don't mind making the drive because its one of my favorite gems to shop for designer goods & when I stepped foot in there the other day I heard Angels singing!

As a shameless shopaholic, I thought it would be a good idea to put outfits together & post them on my blog. Original right?! Listen I am not a real style blogger, but it was fun playing dress up. I actually shopped my own closet & recreated this look from Chictopia. My bestie Kristen was kind of enough to stand in 40 degree weather with even colder winds to take these pictures of me. If I'm in love with something that's out of my budget, I have no problem hunting down the look for less. Get into Buffalo's Dori cowboy boot. They are a dead ringer for Isabel Marant's popular "Milwauke" boot.

I stalked the now SOLD OUT $1200 Isabel Marant's for months & found similar looks from Zara & ALDO. However, I think the Dori boot comes the closest to the original. If you love it, get it for $99 at Shoedazzle & hurry because its selling out!

 

My last pick is Jefrrey Campbell's 5th Avenue boot. I had my eye on these since I saw them on Nordstrom.com. I didn't even know they were a look for less until I saw singer Brandy on the FashionBomb rocking Alexander Wang's Kolfinna boot. Lets take a look shall we.

What To Wear to New York Fashion Week

Fashion Week is next month & I'm going back & forth on whether I should go to New York or not. Question: Is the cold weather a good enough reason not to attend? I'm serious! I'm from Atlanta & New York cold is very different than Atlanta cold. It's BRICK up there! Even though I'm still undecided not going, being the crazy blogger that I am, I've still put together a few looks in my head of what I would wear just in case.

One of my style inspirations is Miroslava Duma. I've had a girl crush on her since '09. Her entire wardrobe is the fashionista's guideline on how to rock Fashion Week the right way. While googling her looks this go round, I was particularly drawn to......

I'm not into 16 degree weather but if you are, I suggest you make a statement out in those cold streets next month by opting for a suit during fashion week. Layer the multiple piece look with a fur or a wool coat. You'll be warm & chic. What do yall think?
